Notable landmarks include the 17th-century San Antonio Castle, built to protect Menorca from invaders, and the Church of San Antonio Abad, a fine example of local architecture. Fornells is also well-known for its lobster stew, a dish that has attracted personalities such as King Juan Carlos I.<-p>

Continue to Cala Tirant, just a short drive away, where you will pause for a photo opportunity. The horseshoe-shaped bay, framed by lush hills, is a reminder of Menorca¿s unspoilt natural beauty. Pack history and gastronomy on this short-but-sweet excursion, which starts with a stroll (350 metres) from the ship to the harbour - one of the largest "natural harbours" in the Mediterranean -, where a one-hour boat tour begins.<-p>

The excursion continues back on dry land with a two-hour walking tour through Mahón s streets to its historic centre. One of the highlights is a visit to a bustling food market, where a guide will explain more about the regional products and specialities being sold.<-p>

Raise a glass to end the excursion on a 30-minute visit to a local gin distillery reached via 15 minutes on foot after the walking tour. Discover the secrets of the gin-making process, with the option to purchase some of the artisanal gin produced at the distillery. From here it s just a 15-minute walk back to the ship, where the tour ends.<-p>

Important Information:<-strong>It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and to bring sunscreen, a hat, and a bottle of water. Guests with any type of food intolerance are required to communicate it to the Shore Excursions Office at least two days before the call. No alcoholic beverages will be served to minors. Set out on a coach journey of approximately 50 minutes from Mahon, Menorca¿s current capital, to Ciutadella, the island¿s charming former capital on the opposite coast. Upon arrival, you will have around 3 hours and 20 minutes of free time to discover Ciutadella¿s treasures at your own pace.<-p>

The city, once a thriving Carthaginian settlement and a major trading centre in the Middle Ages, boasts a beautifully preserved old town that reflects its rich heritage. Stroll through narrow, winding alleys lined with noble palaces and Baroque churches, many dating back to expansions in the 17th and 18th centuries. The 14th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria de Ciutadella stands as an architectural highlight, while the Castell de Sant Nicolau, a defensive tower built in the 17th century, offers insight into the city¿s strategic importance.<-p>

You may wish to pause at the belvedere behind the Town Hall for panoramic views, or simply enjoy the lively squares and local cafés, soaking in the unique atmosphere. Ciutadella is also renowned for its bustling markets and local artisan shops, providing an excellent opportunity to find authentic souvenirs and taste Menorcan delicacies.<-p>

At the agreed time, return to the designated coach meeting point for the 50-minute transfer back to the port.<-p>

Important Information:<-strong>This tour is suitable for all ages, but please be aware that the terrain in Ciutadella may include uneven surfaces and cobblestones. A walk of approximately 350 metres is required between the bus parking area and the city centre. Comfortable footwear is strongly recommended. This is an unguided tour- you are responsible for your own schedule and timely return to the coach. Weather conditions may vary, so please be prepared for sun and possible wind.<-p>

Board a coach for a 30-minute unguided transfer through Minorca¿s scenic countryside. As you travel, appreciate the island¿s unique landscapes, shaped by centuries of careful stewardship - a commitment recognised in 1993 when Minorca was declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve.<-p>

Arrive at Son Bou Beach, the longest and one of the most celebrated stretches of shoreline on Minorca. With three kilometres of fine golden sand, the beach is bordered by pine forests and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Son Bou is renowned for its gentle slope into the sea, making it ideal for families and those seeking a relaxing swim. The beach is equipped with amenities such as sunbeds, parasols, and cafés, ensuring a comfortable visit. You will have approximately 4 hours of free time to indulge in beach life. Take a leisurely walk along the coast, try one of the available water sports (at your own expense), or simply unwind in the sun.<-p>

After your time at the beach, return to the coach for a 30-minute unguided transfer back to the port.<-p>

Important Information:<-strong>This excursion is available from mid-June to September and is subject to weather conditions. It is not suitable for wheelchair users. Please wear swimming costume and bring a beach towel, sunscreen, and any personal items you may require for a half-day at the beach. Water sports and beach activities are not included in the price. Sunbeds and parasols are available to rent at the beach but subject to availability.<-p>
