If you want to capture the true essence of a city, you must do so by walking its streets. This 5-hour excursion combines short bus rides with a 3-hour discovery walk of Bilbao. Leave the port, board the coach and in half an hour you will find yourself at the extraordinary Guggenheim Museum. You will have 45 minutes to briefly stop outside the Museum to take some photos, hear some information and walk to the old town. You will enter the centre admiring the Calatrava Bridge, a pedestrian bridge spanning the Nervión River and offering an ideal location for panoramic photos of the Guggenheim Museum. Once in the city, we will enjoy a one-hour guided walk through El Arenal, passing the famous Cathedral of Santiago, reputedly the oldest building in Bilbao. In former times, the Cathedral was the centre of Bilbao, and all the city s main streets converged here. Today the cathedral is dedicated to the city s patron saint, St James, and boasts a beautiful Neo-Gothic tower. A 45-minute free time will be followed by a 30-minute stop at a local bar, an opportunity to rest and enjoy some typical "pintxos", a local delicacy. The tour concludes with the 45-minute walk back to Guggenheim Museum to pick up the bus and reach the port after a 45-minute sightseeing drive.

Great art and architecture converge on this tour that takes in the Guggenheim Museum and leaves you about 2 hours of independent exploration of Bilbao. The fabulous Guggenheim collection is distributed across three museums managed by the Foundation: the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Guggenheim Museum SoHo, both in New York, and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, in Venice. The permanent collection of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao includes works by the most prominent artists of the last forty years and is supplemented by works from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. Exhibited are significant examples of Pop Art, Minimalism, Arte Povera, Conceptual Art and Abstract Expressionism among others, together with special exhibitions sponsored by the Foundation. After the Museum visit, you will have two hours of free time to discover the city according to your interests. There is no shortage of places to visit, from the beautiful old town to the magnificent cathedral. But since the choice is yours alone, be sure to plan your time well to return to the place where the coach will be waiting for you to return to the port.

The visit inside the museum will be without a guide and at your own pace. Information will be given through an audio guide system (QR Code) to download in your personal electronic device. Guggenheim Museum is offering free Wi-fi to the visitors to scan the QR code and connect the device to the app that allows to listen the proper explanations in different languages. We strongly recommend to visitors the use of earbuds inside. This excursion is not available on Mondays from October to May.<-p>

After boarding a coach at the port, your scenic all-day tour begins with a 1-hour drive through the Basque countryside to San Sebastián, a relatively small town situated on the coast of the Bay of Biscay that is the capital of the Gipuzkoa province. Your tour of this lovely city will take you to see all the main sights, such as the late-19th-century Miramar Palace, which was built as a summer residence for Queen Maria Cristina, as well as the Gothic Revival Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, whose construction was completed in 1897. Also, on the drive-by itinerary are the Victoria Eugenia Theatre and the elegant Hotel Maria Cristina, both of which were inaugurated in 1912. San Sebastián s glorious old quarter, the so-called Parte Vieja, and port will then be explored on foot - the best way to soak up the special atmosphere of these history-laden streets. Once the guided tour is over, board the bus to the place where you can enjoy a delicious lunch and recharge your batteries. Your return journey to Bilbao will also take you to visit Mount Igueldo for superb views of the city and a chance to take some memorable photos to show your friends and family at home.

After boarding a coach and leaving the confines of Bilbao, you ll first travel south to reach Spain s famous La Rioja wine growing region. Your first destination will be the town of Haro, where the family winery called Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España was founded in 1879, producing Rioja wines that have attracted Spain s highest Denominación de Origen Calificada classification since 1991. The historical winery is still situated in its original spot near Haro s station and will host the first of two wine tasting sessions on the tour. Then you ll move on to the family s winery just out of town. After being welcomed by the charming owners, you ll be taken on a tour of the facility and end with another chance to sample delicious wines and food. The return trip to Bilbao will then give you time to relax and enjoy lovely views of the beautiful La Rioja landscape.

Two of the capital cities of the Basque Country, Bermeo and Guernica, are on the itinerary of this half-day excursion, which offers not only history but also spectacular natural views. The tour begins with an approx. 1-hour coach drive to a truly unique and evocative place, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe for a short photo stop. The scenery used in Game of Thrones will not escape the attentive eye of TV series lovers. In fact, in addition to the spectacular view of the Catabric Sea, the location was used in the TV series to set Dragonstone, the Fortress of Queen Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons. From here you will reach Bermeo, once a provincial capital until 1602 and still an important fishing port. Situated on the slopes of Mount Sollube and along a rugged coastline, a guided walk along the streets of its historic centre with the Gothic Church of San Francisco, the 18th-century Town Hall and the neoclassical Church of Santa María is a plunge into the town s history. From here you will continue to Guernica, the ancient Basque capital where a guided tour will allow you to discover its tragic history. Almost completely destroyed by German bombing during the Spanish Civil War, this terrible event on a defenceless city inspired Picasso s great masterpiece. The itinerary includes the petrified trunk of the oak tree that survived the air raid, the peace memorials of the Park of Europe and an external view of the Casa de Juntas, seat of the Basque Parliament since 1979. The tour ends with a return to the port.
