Led by a guide, spend 90 minutes navigating this immense UNESCO World Heritage Site, discovering the Temple of Hera (one of the oldest monumental temples in Greece), the Treasuries (where valuable votive offerings were once stored) and the Gymnasium (where the first Olympians trained).<-p> After a 15-minute transfer from Olympia, enjoy a relaxing two hours at a local olive farm. The owners will welcome you in like family, offering wine or ouzo and homemade olive oil cake, before showing you around the estate. Your journey starts with a visit to the Katakolon church, a tranquil spot reflecting local tradition and community spirit. Continue cycling towards Skafidia Monastery, a remarkable site with Byzantine roots dating back to the 10th century, offering a glimpse into the region¿s spiritual heritage. Pause to admire its architecture and serene surroundings.<-p> The route then leads you to Skafidia Beach, where you are granted one hour of free time. Here, you can indulge in the crystal-clear waters or simply relax on the sandy shore. Skafidia Beach is known for its laid-back atmosphere and stunning views of the Ionian Sea, making it an ideal setting for meaningful moments with loved ones.<-p> After your beach break, ride on to Mirtea Village, a picturesque settlement where you can experience authentic rural life and perhaps interact with local residents. As you travel towards Olympia, you may notice the gentle slopes of Mount Kronion, a site of mythological importance, said to have been a place of worship since ancient times.<-p> Arriving in Olympia, you have approximately two hours and a half to immerse yourself in the town¿s vibrant atmosphere. Olympia is not only renowned for its archaeological wonders, but also for its charming streets and local traditions. Take this opportunity to stroll through the town centre, enjoy a local café, or search for unique souvenirs crafted by skilled artisans. You may wish to visit the Archaeological Museum or simply admire the serene landscapes that have inspired countless legends.<-p> After your self-guided exploration, return to the designated meeting point in Olympia, where your coach awaits for the 40-minute journey back to Katakolon.<-p> Important Information:<-strong> this tour includes only roundtrip transfers. The archaeological site is not located in the modern part of Olympia, but inland, about 35 km away.
