The programme
- Edinburgh, dominated by its imposing medieval castle, is still the home of the English Royal Family in Scotland. But it's also home to scary mysteries and legends that are just waiting to be discovered.
- Once you get off the bus, head to the “Royal Mile” on foot - the street that cuts the old town in half, and which connects St. Giles' Cathedral with Edinburgh Castle. While you're waiting for night to fall, go on a stroll through the city's old center in total freedom, among the many pubs and restaurants, **and perhaps taste one of Scotland's traditional dishes, such as the famous “Cullen Skink”, a typical soup of fish and potatoes.
- And when it gets dark, it's time to descend into the gloomy atmosphere of the dungeons, with their vaulted rooms, tunnels and spooky passages.
- Your guide is an expert at telling stories of the ghosts that haunt this maze...did you feel that icy breath?
- And when you discover the real history of the Blair Street dungeons, you'll swear it's haunted: built in the 1800s, it was home to the unsanitary little stores of the poorest merchants, a refuge for thousands of outcasts, and then a grisly place of smuggling and torture: don't get left behind!
- Wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the experience.
