EDINBURGH, ROYAL STY

EDINBURGH, ROYAL STYLE: FROM COURT LIFE TO THE HEART OF THE CITY

In a nutshell
If you want to experience what “royal style” really means, this is your moment. First, step aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia, the United Kingdom’s most elegant floating residence. Then enjoy a panoramic drive across Edinburgh before heading down the Royal Mile, one of Europe’s most history‑packed streets. An experience that blends protocol, city life, and freedom — in exactly the right measure.

Main stops
  • Visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia
  • Exploration of the 5 historic decks
  • Panoramic bus tour through Edinburgh’s Old Town and New Town
  • Free time along the Royal Mile

The programme

Leave the ship and begin with the most iconic stop possible: the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Moored at Ocean Terminal, this is no ordinary vessel, but the British royal family’s home at sea from 1953 onward. It is where they slept, worked, welcomed Heads of State, and traveled countless nautical miles.

On board, you explore five perfectly preserved decks: from the Sun Lounge, where the Queen enjoyed private moments, to the State Dining Room, the setting for official receptions with dignitaries from around the world. Nothing is over the top; everything is precise — exactly as expected.
Here you understand that true British elegance is not about showing off, but about aesthetic discipline.

After the visit, return to the coach and switch gears completely. A panoramic bus tour takes you through Edinburgh’s Old Town and New Town, two contrasting souls of the same city: one medieval, dark and compact; the other orderly, bright, and geometric. Seeing them side by side explains Edinburgh better than any guidebook.

You then step onto the street that connects it all: the Royal Mile.
Edinburgh Castle at one end, Holyrood Palace at the other. In between, an ancient, vibrant street filled with shops, hidden corners, and historical mischief. Enjoy free time to stroll, browse, stop for a coffee, or simply watch the world go by.

When you return to the ship, one thing is clear: you’ve crossed two symbols of British power, with the perfect balance between guided visits and personal freedom. And suddenly, Edinburgh makes much more sense.
