This approximately 6-hour tour begins at the pier in Tauranga where you board a bus for an hour and a half drive to Rotorua through the countryside where farms and forests combine and make this region one of the most beautiful in New Zealand. Upon arrival at the lovely town of Rotorua, enjoy a brief sightseeing with external views of the Prince s Gate and the Government Gardens. Your first stop will be an amazing experience witnessing the wondrous geothermal valley of Whakarewarewa on a guided walking tour among unique geological patterns, shapes and surreal colours that have taken thousands of years to form. In this amazing place, you ll see pools of boiling mud, hissing steam vents, multicoloured thermal terraces and the impressive Pohutu Geyser. Experience getting your hands dirty and try your hand at Maori carving. You ll soon discover the legends and myths behind Hell s Gate. After your one hour and 45 minutes visit, a short transfer will take you to Princes Gate Hotel for High tea. The next 45 minutes include some time to relax tasting scones with a cup of coffee or tea and a little free time around the Government Gardens. The one and a half drive back to Tauranga concludes your tour.
