  • It doesn't matter if you have never held a fishing rod, or if you know all the techniques to perfection: here, the beauty is in the water! The sheer variety of the course of this river means the water is different every day, and can surprise even those with plenty of fishing experience.
  • Get ready to discover what it's like to fish among calm, deep pools, in the midst of the current, among frothy waves, or from the banks of the river.
  • Your guide knows every inch of the river, and can take you to where you'll have the most fun. The equipment? It's already here waiting for you!
  • It takes patience but it's hard to get bored while you wait for the fish to bite: look around, you're in the heart of Patagonia. The perfect place for taking a photo with your bait, reel and line to remember this experience!

The programme
  • The wild nature of the Aysén region connects the lush Chiloé archipelago to Puerto Montt. This region's evocative scenery and its humid and windy weather make this area, known as Chilean Patagonia, truly unique and fascinating. The famous Carretera Austral, completed in 1996, makes connections to this region easier, giving modern travellers the opportunity to appreciate amazing natural beauties such as the tumultuous rivers winding their way along lush valleys and the small waterfalls of crystal-clear waters refreshing the steep mountain slopes.
  • After a sightseeing tour on our coach, we pass along the great Simpson river as far as our destination * a small farm with stables.
  • We listen to a brief presentation on the equestrian world and, after receiving proper technical clothes, we are ready for our horseback ride in a truly evocative natural scenery.

  • The horseback part lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and does not include any specific difficulties.
  • You need to be physically fit to take part in this excursion.

As you float on the water, you'll come across ducks and birds of all kinds, and then as you make your way on foot among the trees, you'll come to a wild little island just waiting to be discovered. The last surprise before returning to shore is waiting for you here: A snack with a view of the mountains!

The programme
  • As you slip over the calm waters of Los Palos lake, you'll rediscover the most authentic connection with nature and discover the wild soul of Patagonia.
  • Before climbing into your kayak, your expert guide will provide you with the equipment and tips you need to enjoy the crossing with total peace of mind.
  • Once on the water, you'll become part of the environment, and the rhythm of your paddles will accompany you as you explore the shore, with the kingfishers and ducks that swim alongside you.
  • As you plunge deeper into the calm of this place, it's time for a walk through the trees and vegetation to reach a wild islet: take your time to soak up all the details of the landscape and keep your eyes peeled to catch a glimpse of the eagles soaring above you.
  • Before setting off again to reach Taboo River, a snack with mountain views is just what you need to recharge your batteries!

CATAMARAN EXCURSION TO THE AYSÉN FJORD

In a nutshell The Aysén fjord will enchant us with its spectacular scenery, views of the Maca volcano, the Cinco Hermanas natural monument and a myriad of islands with their lush greenery populated by cormorants and other wildlife. A relaxing yet fascinating excursion aboard a comfortable catamaran.

The programme
  • Aboard a comfortable motor catamaran, we start our excursion along the Aysén fjord surrounded by a wonderful panorama. From our boat, we can spot some salmon farms, as breeding is a very popular activity in the region (Chile is the second exporter of salmon in the world after Norway).
  • We reach Cinco Hermanas, a 228-hectare natural monument made up of six islands with lush greenery populated by colonies of cormorants and other wildlife. Weather permitting and with a bit of luck, we may even spot the snowy peak of the Maca volcano, one of the most spectacular in Patagonia.
  • On the way back to our ship, we sail we sail through the Pilcomayo Channel and past the charming islands of Carmen and Partida with their relaxing green fields.

The programme
  • Wear comfortable shoes, you're setting off on an expedition in the wild nature of Patagonia! Step after step, get ready for evocative views along the River Trail: on the shores of lake Riesco, you'll see the landscape reflected in its clear waters.
  • Here, the woods are teeming with flora and fauna: learn all about them at the information stations you come across along the way.
  • As you make your way through the ferns and myrtle of the rainforest, you'll be accompanied by the sound of your footsteps on the peat and the unmistakable song of the Huet-Huet bird flying between the trees.
  • Keep your eyes open and your camera on to observe how the landscape changes as you move from forest to marshes and grasslands, until you get to the Old Man's Beard waterfall.
  • After taking in the spectacular views of lakes, rivers, hills and mountains, it is time to top up your energy levels: the thunderous power of the water and a typical lunch served in a restaurant in the heart of the forest will take care of it!
  • From the lush nature, typical dishes and traditional dances, you will have experienced the real soul of these places.

The programme Your first stop will be at the park’s Information Centre where a map will help you find your bearings on the hiking trail that you will be setting off along, together with your nature guide. This enjoyable walk will allow you to feel just like one of the world’s most curious and passionate botanists : the beauty of nature’s small and large miracles is truly awe-inspiring! At the end of hiking trail, there’ll be a tasty, refreshing break, accompanied by music, to give you a warm welcome to wonderful Patagonia! Good to know

  • We recommend wearing outdoor clothing and trekking shoes.

  • Patagonia weather is unpredictable and sudden changes during the day are possible. Guests are recommended to dress in layers, bring a jacket as some showers may occur.
  • This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility as it requires walking and standing for longer periods of time. Guests using wheelchairs and walkers cannot participate due to several steps on wooden staircases (up to 15 max in a row).

The programme
  • We will leave from Puerto Chacabuco, which takes its name from the famous battle of Chacabuco of 1817 during the Chilean war of independence against Spain, for a sightseeing tour along the most famous road in the southern hemisphere: the Austral Route or “Carretera Austral”. In its entirety, the road is considered one of the most beautiful in the world and extends over 1,240 kilometres passing secular forests, pioneer farms and green-turquoise rivers, until we reach the waves of the Pacific Ocean.
  • We will travel along a small section of this famous road, just enough to appreciate some of its beauties: the impetuous Simpson river which winds round the green valleys.
  • We will stop for the first time at the Simpson River National Reserve, the gentle coves of which are flanked by huge rocky cliffs, all within a large valley which extends 37 km to the west of Coyhaique. The 410 km² are easily accessible and offer the opportunity to immerse ourselves into a very picturesque setting. We will have 30 minutes to visit the Visitors Center with a display of the flora and fauna of the area including an easy and short walk to the shores of the Simpson River and get to grips with the geography and nature of this area of Patagonia.
  • Continuing on our journey, we will stop at Mirador Alto Baguales, from where we can see views of Coyhaique and the surrounding area.
  • Once we arrive in the city, we will pass by the monument dedicated to the Shepherd, with stop at Plaza de Armas and the craft market where we can buy a selection of souvenirs in order to remember this marvellous experience at the heart of nature in Chile.
  • We will then return towards the Simpson river valley stopping outside Coyhaique in a private spectacular venue : we will enjoy a cocktail in a setting surrounded by mountains and forests and then continue on a drive to see the spectacular Vírgen waterfall. We will then head to our coach which awaits to take us back to Puerto Chacabuco.

  • The hike at the Reserve is easy and short (400 meters in total) it lasts approximately 15 minutes, on a mostly flat, dirt track.
