VISIT MALTA¿S FORTIFIED TOWNS: VALLETTA AND MDINA

EXPLORING MALTA¿S HISTORIC TOWNS: RABAT, MOSTA & MDINA
Excursion Details<-strong><-p> Setting foot in the walled city of Mdina, a 35-minute drive from the port, feels like going back in time. This medieval town is immaculately preserved, and a 45-minute walking tour presents a chance to explore its narrow alleys, flanked by honey-hued limestone mansions. The time spent in Mdina also includes a short stop to visit Mdina Glass outlet and witness the skillful artistry of local glassmakers.<-p> A short walk from Mdina is the town of Rabat (approx. 10 minutes), packed with historical sights, including a famous grotto where St Paul is said to have preached after being shipwrecked on the island. Explore the town on a 30-minute walking tour.<-p> After a 15-minute walk to the coach and another short drive (approx. 15 minutes), the excursion concludes with a visit to Mosta, home to the Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady, commonly known as the "Miracle Church" after a bomb fell through the roof during World War Two but failed to explode. Spend 30 minutes exploring the church consecrated in 1871 and boasting one of the world s largest unsupported domes. SCENIC HARBOUR CRUISE AND LOCAL TASTING

Plenty of hiking trails are available and the nearby town of Mellieha can be reached via a short-but-steep uphill journey (buses are often available if walking is not the preferred option). The town is also home to Mellieha Parish Church, an important pilgrimage site boasting views across the surrounding countryside. EXPLORING MALTA¿S SOUTHERN COVES
Excursion Details<-strong><-p> Although a small island, Malta holds a huge amount of history, culture and natural beauty, as will be revealed on this excursion. A 30-minute coach transfer takes the excursion along the coast to the village of Marsaxlokk, on the shores of Malta¿s second-largest natural bay. A short walk (approx. 15 minutes) takes you to the city centre. Look out for colourful fishing boats, known as luzzu, and enjoy ocean views during approximately 55 minutes of free time here.<-p> After boarding the coach again, followed a 15-minute walk, a 35-minute drive takes you to Wied iz-Zurrieq, your second destination. The area is widely known for the Blue Grotto, a network of weather-sculpted sea caves that have become something of a Maltese natural wonder, boasting intense blue waters and dramatic rock formations. You will have 60 minutes of free time so you can choose how to spend this time. If you decide to explore the Blue Grotto, please make sure to have enough time and check weather conditions. There are short boat trips to further explore parts of the Blue Grotto which will require an additional cost to pay on the spot. GOZO ISLAND BY BOAT AND BUGGY
