Located in the far north of Jutland, Skagen is lovely town and the starting point to many attractions in the surrounding areas. Leave the ship and begin the tour with a scenic drive through the town of Skagen while enjoying its picturesque landscape dominated by the characteristic yellow houses and several historical buildings. You will visit Skagen Museum, displaying a vast collection of Danish art from the 19th and 20th century before boarding the coach again and heading up north to Grenen. Meaning "the Branch" for its shape like a tree-branch, Grenen is the top of Denmark and a sandbar spit reaching out from the mainland. Enjoy this magic place with a trip on the "Sandworm", a tractor-pulled bus that will bring you to the uttermost part of Denmark to get a glimpse of where the Skagerrak and Kattegat seas meet with the characteristic crashing of waves from opposite direction. To round off your tour, enjoy a visit to the Buried Church, dating back to the 1300s being the largest church in the region at the time. Partially buried by sand from the nearby dunes in the late 18th century, the church was demolished later, leaving only the tower with crow-stepped gable standing as part of the original structure. The return to the port concludes the excursion.

There is no better way than a walk to discover the hidden corners of a city. This short excursion aims to introduce you to Skagen, located in the far north of Jutland, and to visit its interesting museum. Leave the ship, meet your guide, and take a stroll down the old town streets of Skagen where you will see the typical yellow painted houses and many historic buildings. Pass along the waterfront, the locals favourite place to enjoy some food and drinks in the sun. You will also find many boats in the marina, both yachts and old fishing boats that together with old fishmongers wooden houses tell a story of glorious Skagen s past. Discover some of the landmark buildings, including Anna and Michael Ancher s house and the famous Brøndums Hotel, where many of the famous Skagen Artists stayed. Then, you will visit Skagen museum, exhibiting many paintings, drawings, sculptures, and handicrafts created by artists working in Skagen from 1870 - 1930 and take a look at the paintings and artists portraits in the Brøndum Dining Room. The walk continues in the town centre before ending at the pier.

If you are a history buff, this is definitely the excursion for you, so hop on your coach and get ready for this interesting adventure. Leave the port and reach the remains of the remains of the Atlantic Wall from WWII which was built by Nazis as defence system against the anticipated invasion by the Allied forces. Visit the Bangsbo Fort, part of a fortification system that was supposed to protect the city of Frederikshavn, located at an important point overlooking Kattegat strait. Nowadays it serves as a museum showcasing how the German soldiers used to live in the bunkers and displays the strategic importance this area had in WWII. Enjoy some free time in the town of Frederikshaven before reaching your next destination, the Jutland Resistance Museum, devoted to the Danish resistance movement and their everyday life during the German occupation from 1940 to 1945. The tour concludes with the return to the port.

VOERGAARD CASTLE & DANISH PASTRY

An hour coach drive will take you south of Skagen to reach the Voergaard Castle, Denmark s most beautiful Renaissance castle dating back to 1481. It is famous for its stories of scary ghosts, largest collection of French art out of France and a mysterious blood stain that cannot be washed. After the visit to the Castle, continue to Bangsbo Manor House once a place frequently visited by leading poets and nowadays a museum. You will feel like going back in time as you see how the many exhibitions and learn how the farm changed into a manor through the years. The guide will tell you about the town s history, textile exhibits and a unique jewellery made of human hair. You will have a break to enjoy some coffee and Danish pastry at the Manor before boarding the coach and reach the port and your ship.

BIKE ADVENTURE THROUGH SKAGEN AND GRENEN

A bicycle tour is undoubtedly a pleasant and enjoyable way to exercise outdoors and discover new places. After picking up your bikes at the harbour, head to the Marina, the place where locals like to spend time having a drink or lunch in the sun. Then, follow your guide and continue riding on the beach road towards the Skagen Grey Lighthouse which also serves as a Centre for Migratory Birds. Have a stop here and enjoy a virtual tour of the centre, learn more about the birds visiting the Birder s Club, a room open to everybody where you can get news of what happens in the area, or climb up the top of the Lighthouse to enjoy the beautiful view of the surroundings. Then, leave your bike and walk to Grenen, the very tip of the spit where two seas, Kattegat, and Skagerrak meet: a unique experience. Hop on your bike once again and enjoy the scenic ride to the pier.

Three hours of scenic beauty and historical wonders await you on this excursion to discover Skagen and its surrounding natural treasures. The tour begins with a 40-minute sightseeing tour through the heart of Skagen to admire the city s colourful architecture, historical sights, and vibrant atmosphere. Afterwards, you will head towards the northernmost tip of Denmark with an initial stop in Grenen, where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea meet, one of the most picturesque and visited places in the area. Next, enjoy a short stop at the famous Buried Church, an intriguing historical site of which only the bell tower is visible today while the rest of the building has been buried by the sand of the dunes. The route continues to Råbjerg Mile, one of the largest sand dunes in Northern Europe. The peculiarity of this dune is that it is constantly changing due to the weather. Admire the sandy landscape and this impressive natural phenomenon that has shaped this coastal region during a stop of about 30 minutes. Your guide will provide you with interesting insights and stories along the way and during the stops at the sites so that this experience is enjoyable and enriching. The half-hour drive to the harbour will conclude the tour.

Visit the Skagen Weather Station, which has played a vital role in maritime navigation and forecasting in northern Denmark. Afterwards, reach Grenen Beach and Bird Sanctuary, where the Baltic and North Seas meet- this spot is famous for its rich birdlife and unique natural setting, making it a prime location for discovery and bonding.<-p>

Your first destination is the renowned Skagen Grey Lighthouse, a historic beacon dating back to 1858, which is also a centre for migratory bird observation. Continue to the Skagen Weather Station, where meteorological insights have guided local fishermen for generations.<-p>

Next, pedal toward Grenen Beach and Bird Sanctuary, where the North Sea and Baltic Sea meet, creating a unique landscape that attracts thousands of migratory birds each year. Take in the serenity of The White Lighthouse, a striking landmark built in 1747, now often used as an exhibition space.<-p>
