Hakone

HAKONE: A VOLCANIC EXPERIENCE, THEN FLYING OVER LAKE ASHI

In a nutshell

Set off from the port in Tokyo and head into the Hakone area, where history and volcanic energy coexist without making a fuss. Breathe in the sulfurous scent of Owakudani, taste the famous black eggs cooked in the boiling waters, take the cable car up to Lake Ashi and enjoy views that stretch as far as Mount Fuji when the weather decides to play ball. Then, relax on a lake cruise and finish up with dinner in a local restaurant before you head back.
A real mix of nature, active geology and views that know how to fix themselves in your memory.

Main stops
  • Visit to the volcanic valley of Owakudani
  • Tasting of black eggs cooked in the sulfurous water
  • Hakone Ropeway: cable car to Lake Ashi
  • Cruise on Lake Ashi
  • Visit to Mount Fuji (weather permitting)

The programme

Disembark at the port in Tokyo and get ready for a change in vibe: Hakone isn't an excursion - it's a multi-sensory experience, above all for your nose. The first stop is Owakudani, the volcanic valley where the fumaroles immediately remind you that the earth beneath your feet is much more alive than it seems. Here, you can taste the famous black eggs cooked in the sulfurous water: it is said that they bring good luck, and in any case, you can tick this one off your list too, saying "Done that".

Then it's time to gain altitude: climb up on the Hakone Ropeway and let the cable car accompany you own to Lake Ashi. Look outside: amidst the mist, hills and open spaces, Mount Fuji may appear like a VIP who decides to make an appearance, but only when it suits them.

Once you arrive at Lake Ashi, it's time for a change in perspective: jump on board the cruise and enjoy Hakone from the water. It's the best way to get a sense of why this area is seen as one of the most iconic in Japan: calm waters in front of you, mountains all around, and you in the middle, savoring the moment without any rush.

Before heading back to the port, it's time for a final treat: dinner in a local restaurant - simple and genuine, just the way we like it. After a day like this, you've earned it.
Head back to the ship with the feeling that you've experienced volcanoes, cable cars, lakes and a good dose of Japanese madness in a single day. Hakone has surprised you, mission accomplished!

Good to know
  • In the event of volcanic activity and where warnings are issued, it will not be possible to access the Owakudani area.
  • The cable car ride and cruise on Lake Ashinoko may not be possible in strong winds or other circumstances.
  • In the event of the cable car/cruise being canceled, the itinerary may be subject to change (for example, the transfer will be by van from Owakudani to Lake Ashi, then to the restaurant).

Move in time with Tokyo's rhythm: a full immersion in the Japanese underground system on your way to the Meiji Jingu Shrine. Then it's time for the urban pandemonium of Shibuya: with ancient forests, giant torii gates, record-breaking pedestrian crossings and the moving story of Japan's most loyal dog. Program

Dan završava prijavom u hotel, večerom i odmorom. Umorni? Možda. Dirnuti? Sigurno.

Dan 2 – Hakone: jezera, zadimljena zemlja i možda pojavljivanje planine Fuji

No najbolji dio čeka poslijepodne: panoramsko krstarenje od Hakonemachika do Togendaija, a zatim ravno žičarom iznad zadimljene doline Owakudani.

Dan 3 – Osaka: ulična hrana, neon i urbani folklor
Novi dan, novi grad. Brzi doručak i krećemo Shinkansenom - slavnim brzim vlakom poznatim po učinkovitosti. Stižete u Osaku, prijestolnicu hrane i nestašnog duha.

Dan 4 – Hirošima i Miyajima: trnci i poezija

Dan 5 – Nagasaki: povijest, rane i ponovno rođenje
