The programme
- By following the coast road we come to Cabo Girão, one of the highest view points in the world (580m), where the tenacity of farmers has even beaten the cliff tops.
- We will then reach the picturesque spot of Camara de Lobos where we will take a break to photograph the typical fishermen's houses that sit sheltered on rocky slopes, and the terraced vineyards behind the beach. This is a landscape often interpreted in paintings completed by Winston Churchill during his frequent winter visits here.
- We continue on to Pico dos Barcelos, a beautiful panoramic terrace on the south coast of Madeira.
- Once in Funchal, we will stop off at a local handicraft shop, where we can admire a range of typical lace products and taste the unmissable wines produced using the renowned local Madeira vine variety, thanks to which the island has achieved worldwide fame.

- We visit the Rota dos Cetáceos, the"Cetacean Route" where descendants of an ancient family of whalerswere using old methods to hunt the whales through observation points along thecoast and, using huge telescopes to observe the sea every day.
- In fullrespect of the animals and in a completely natural environment, we follow theroute of observation of cetaceans aboard a boat, accompanied by a marinebiologist who explains the different aspects of the observed species.

- When we leave the port, we will make asightseeing tour downtown of Funchal, driving up to Agua de Pena, Portela andPorto da Cruz. * After a trip through the vineyards and sugarcane plantations,we arrive to Faial. * We stop for lunch in a restaurant. Once in Funchal, westop at a local craft store, where we can admire an exhibition of typical laceand taste the inevitable wines produced with the renowned local grapevariety,il Madera, thanks to which the island is world famous .

Enjoy views over the bay and the laurisilva forest, then immerse yourself into the botanical garden, an explosion of exotic plants in the historic Quinta do Bom Sucesso. And finally, at the colorful market and with a sip of Madeira, you'll feel to have tasted the real soul of the island.

The programme
- We will start our tour by visiting Monte, a sheltered town on the hills that dominate Funchal. Also known as Nossa Senhora do Monte, it is located 6km from the centre of the capital and once housed thermal baths that were particularly appreciated by European high society. By taking a cable car, we will head for the famous botanical gardens, which are rich in exotic plants. This will give us chance to make a brief but unforgettable trip with wonderful partial views of Funchal Bay and views of the he João Gomes river, a place of rare and exotic beauty thanks also to the luxuriant Laurissilva forest.
- Before immersing ourselves in the gardens, we will stop in the garden's main recreation area, which offers a spacious restaurant and café, and panoramic views over Funchal, as well as some pretty shops. Here, with the evocative view of Funchal Bay, we can enjoy a drink, perhaps trying a slice of typical local cake.
- At last we are ready to visit the botanical gardens in the Quinta do Bom Successo, an estate that once belonged to the Reid family and is immersed in an area that boasts the ideal climatic conditions in which to grow luxuriant vegetation.
- Once back in Funchal city centre, we will visit the market with its typical produce: endless fruits, vegetables, flowers, fish and traditional artisan products.
- We will stop off at a local handicraft shop, where we can admire a range of typical lace products and taste the unmissable wines produced using the renowned local Madeira vine variety, thanks to which the island has achieved worldwide fame.

The programme
- We will cross the residential area of Funchal, admiring its beauty, before crossing the Estrada Monumental to reach Pico dos Barcelos, 350 metres above sea level, from which we can enjoy a spectacular view of the city.
- Our tour continues on to another spot offering wonderful view of the port, the Santa Catarina Park, which is also known for the variety of plant species that it boasts.
- Back in the centre of Funchal, we have chance to visit the exterior of the Sé Cathedral, which was consecrated in 1517. Its architecture is testimony to a splendid fusion of styles, from European Gothic, to Moresco, Manueline and the local style.
- Having admired the Cathedral, we will visit the city's historic centre, with its narrow streets and centuries-old buildings.
A 4X4 RIDE THROUGH UNSPOILT NATURE
Jump on a 4x4 off-road vehicle and get ready to explore the wild heart of Madeira! We explore the island's most untouched corners – country lanes, secret forests and hidden waterfalls. Pure off-road pleasure, with streams, bends and views that'll leave you speechless!

The programme
- From the dock, we take the Jeeps and head into one of the island's most beautiful woodland areas, taking typical roads used mostly to carry local agricultural produce to the inhabitants of these rural areas.
- The tour will give us the chance to explore protected areas covered with the dense natural vegetation that characterises this island of volcanic origins. This is, without a doubt, the best way to discover the still-untouched areas of the island, peaceful, majestic and otherwise unexplored.
- We will explore paths that climb the mountain side, and water courses and valleys.

ALL OF FUNCHAL: UP TO MONTE BY BUS
We set off from the port toward Ponta do Garajau, where Christ the King embraces the sea and you can embrace... the scenery! Back in Funchal, a stop with some lace and Madeira wines reminds you that the island is truly stylish. Then, a cable car to Monte: 660 meters above sea level, with subtropical gardens and the tomb of Charles I, Austria's last emperor. Spectacular views, history and a touch of foolishness: All at once!

The programme
- Leaving the port, we will head towards the east coast, where Funchal began its expansion. Here we will stop at the Ponta do Garajau headland, known for its Christ the King statue, which stands with arms open towards the sea. It offers a great panoramic view of Funchal city and Garajau Park.
- Once in Funchal, we will stop off at a local handicraft shop, where we can admire a range of typical lace products and taste the unmissable wines produced using the renowned local Madeira vine variety, thanks to which the island has achieved worldwide fame.
- We will take a cable car up to Monte, which offers a spectacular view. An evocative spot located at 660 metres above sea level, Monte is known not only for its wonderful subtropical gardens, but also because its church houses the remains of Charles I, the last emperor of Austria.
- Weather conditions can change quickly and so we recommend you wear suitable clothing.

FROM SÃO VICENTE TO FUNCHAL: THE BEST OF MADEIRA FROM SEA TO MOUNTAINS
Get ready for Madeira's sights – sea and mountains. From Monte to Pico dos Barcelos and Cabo Girão with views that'll make your head spin. Along the way, quaint villages, volcanic peaks and breathtaking views. After lunch (included, of course!), a stop in Câmara de Lobos and grand finale in Funchal with Madeira wine and a stroll in the town center: Madeira will go straight to your heart.

The programme
- From the port, we leave for some of Madeira's most characteristic spots, both along the coast and inland.
- The first stop on our tour is Monte, a town renowned for its exotic botanical gardens and for the church of Our Lady of Monte.
- We will stop at Pico dos Barcelos, a 350m high peak, where we will take photos and immortalise the wonderful view of Funchal and its hills.
- Our next stop takes us to no less than the highest cliff in the Europe, Cabo Girão. Here the cliff reaches 580 metres in height and pitches steeply into the sea.
- On board our coach we will visit Ribeira Brava, a village by the sea and then we continue to climb the island's highland, arriving to the Encumenada Pass, at an altitude of 1000 metres. Here we can admire the view of the island to both the north and south.
- We depart then for São Vicente, along a route that offers an evocative view with a sprinkling of volcanic peaks.
- After lunch we will begin our return journey, during which we will stop at Câmara de Lobos, the fishing town often immortalised in paintings by Winston Churchill, who used to spend his winters here.
- Once in Funchal, we will visit a 17th century building, where we'll have the chance to taste Madeira, the classic local wine that is famous across the world.
- At the end of the tasting, we will walk around the town centre, before returning to the boat.
- The planned panoramic itinerary (roughly 150 km by coach) includes a number of curves and hairpin bends.
- Places on this excursion are limited. We recommend booking early.
- Waiting lines are possible before the Cestinhos, given the large turnout and the particularity of the attraction itself.
- On Sundays, it will not be possible to descend using the Cestinhos. Alternatively, the funicular railway will be used to reach Monte.
