Day 1 – A warm welcome to the Sibuya Forest safari camp* The Sibuya Forest safari camp is built on the banks of the Kariega river, which flows lazily along wide bends through the plains. Day 2 – Discovering the private game reserve and its inhabitants* The Sibuya private game reserve is a patchwork of different environments, from the bush to the immerse plains where the biggest herbivores graze: the perfect place for the encounter of a lifetime with the big 5 of African animals, but also with antelopes, zebras and giraffes. At dawn when the savanna awakes, and at sunset when the sky is ablaze with red, it is easier to spot them. So climb into your 4x4 and keep your eyes wide open: can you follow the tracks of the animals?* In your free time soak up the relaxing atmosphere at the camp, with views over the river and a host of activities.

Day 3 - A dawn to be experienced at least once in a lifetime* After a hot cup of tea or coffee, set off in a 4x4 on your last safari at dawn, while the savanna slowly awakes. Beaches, lakes, mountains and rivers provide endless opportunity for leisure and outdoor adventure. Within the town, craft shops, flea-markets and cosy cafés beckon with small-town charm and hospitality. Arrive at Plettenberg Hotel and check-in. Spend the remainder of day at leisure enjoying the hotel facilities and your surrounds. Meet at Plettenberg Hotel Restaurant for dinner.

Day 2 - Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, board the coach for a scenic transfer towards Mossel Bay and onto Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Upon arrival you will have lunch and then shown to your air-conditioned tented suites, each with private wooden deck and views of the river or mountains. The tented suites are elegantly decorated with four-poster beds. The en-suite bathrooms have deep oval baths and refreshing outdoor showers. Botlierskop is an ideal venue for those who have not been on Safari before. Late afternoon you’ll depart on your dusk game drive where you will enjoy sundowner drinks amongst the animals. At Botlierskop, you’ll have the opportunity to see rhinoceros, lions, buffalo, giraffe and zebra who reside within the 100 hectare enclosure. En route you will pass towns such as Mossel Bay, Barrydale, Swellendam, Grabouw and travel over the scenic Sir Lowry’s Pass as you enter Cape Town. This conservation friendly tour raises funds through the cruise to secure Dr Lorien Pichegru and her team of researchers to continue the ongoing Penguin research in the area.

Depart from the quayside and make your way to the Algoa Bay Yacht Club where you will meet the boat taking you on your cruise.

The tour will start off with a harbour cruise and a full safety briefing, after which you will exit the port and set course for the island. This island is home to the largest breeding colony of African penguins on the planet and funds raised through the cruise are used to assist Dr Lorien Pichegru who is conducting ground breaking research on the serious decline of these penguins along the coast.  

Besides the penguins you can also encounter schools of Bottlenose dolphins in groups. The Common dolphin as well as Humpback can also be spotted, but they tend to be either further out to sea or closer inshore.  Migratory whales are seen from June until December while the resident Bryde's whale can be seen throughout the year although it is very elusive, being seen only fleetingly.

A refreshment stop just off St Croix Island Group will be made – which is home to about 20 000 African Penguins, making it the largest breeding colony on the planet. Gannets and other sea birds may also be seen on this 25km trip to the island.

Upon arrival you are welcomed with tea or coffee whilst signing your indemnity forms, after which you will don your 4x4 for a game drive.  On the game drive you will have a chance to spot elephant, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, mountain zebra, jackal, buck and variety of predator birds.  
After your exciting game drive you will stop and enjoy a wine tasting, from the grapes that are grown in the surrounding vineyards.  The tasting wines are subject to seasonal produce so will constantly change yearly depending on the harvest from the previous year.
After your adventures you will board your coach for a transfer back to the pier.

Depart from the quayside for a walking tour of Port Elizabeth, the third largest port and fifth largest city in South Africa.

Upon leaving the harbour you will drop off at the start of your walking tour which will include Fort Frederick, a monument, which was named after Frederick, the Duke of York. 

See the Opera House and Donkin Memorial, a stone pyramid erected in memory of Sir Rufane Donkin's wife Elizabeth - Port Elizabeth was named after her.

Pass the Prince Alfred Guard Drill Hall and N°7 Castle Hill.  Other notable buildings will include St Mary’s Cathedral, the Library, the Post Office – and the City Hall, which was seriously damaged by fire in 1977, resulting in a major restoration program. 

The Old Mayor's Garden was rebuilt as an ornamental area. In front of the City Hall stands a replica of the Diaz Cross, which was erected on the coast at Kwaaihoek, where Bartholomew Diaz and his men first landed in 1488.
The Campanile, built in 1923 in memory of the first British settlers who arrived in 1820. It is situated on the site where the settlers landed and contains a carillon of 23 bells.

Spend a day on safari where all of the animals, including the predators, are free-roaming throughout the entire reserve.

Lalibela Game Reserve

The Lalibela Private Game Reserve is located 55 miles from Port Elizabeth, around 1 hour and half from Port Elizabeth. The Eastern Cape is rich in ethnic culture and diversity, and offers you a unique wildlife experience. This malaria-free environment spans 5 eco-systems, resulting in a breathtaking diversity of flora and fauna.

Refreshments will be served at the Day Visitors’ Centre, before starting your game drive in open vehicles. Navigate the Reserve, where the wildlife roams in profusion and diversity. You’ll be face to face with a multitude of game species, ranging from the mighty ‘Big Five’, to the tiny blue duiker and rock hyrax. Lalibela is also home to hippo, giraffe, zebra, warthog and numerous species of antelope such as eland, kudu, bushbuck and wildebeest. Hopefully, you will encounter a variety of wildlife on your game drive, however, sightings are not guaranteed.

Leaving the harbour area, pass the city’s most prominent landmark, the Campanile Monument. Built in 1923, it commemorates the landing of the first British settlers who arrived in 1820 and is situated on the site where the settlers landed and contains a carillon of 23 bells. Continue along the beachfront to the suburb of Summerstrand which is a very popular beach area with many guesthouses and hotels before reaching the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Campus. Along the beachfront, stop off at Shark Rock Pier for a photo-stop (subject to coach accessibility) before transferring to the city centre to view the highlights such as the library, Post Office and City Hall. The City Hall was seriously damaged by fire in 1977, resulting in a major restoration program. Leaving the harbour area, pass the city’s most prominent landmark, the Campanile Monument. Built in 1923, it commemorates the landing of the first British settlers who arrived in 1820 and is situated on the site where the settlers landed and contains a carillon of 23 bells. Continue along the beachfront to the suburb of Summerstrand which is a very popular beach area with many guesthouses and hotels before reaching the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Campus.

Turn inland to the flat valley of the Sunday’s River and arrive at the Addo Elephant Park. Your journey time to the Addo National Park is approximately 1 hour.

The Addo Elephant Park, which consists of + 51 000 ha of bush country, is the home to some 300 elephants, which have bred from the few that remained in the area after the herd was almost wiped out by the hired game hunter Major P.J. Pretorius in the 1920's. Although it belongs to the same species as the African Elephant, the reddish Addo Elephant is smaller with more rounded ears, while the females generally have no tusks.

On a game drive through the park by coach, you will hopefully be able to encounter this rare animal, as well as a variety of other game, which was recently introduced to the reserve. This includes lion, hyena, cheetah, zebra, eland, kudu and red hartebeest and wild dogs.

Also, quite notable is the unique flightless dung beetle, which is found almost exclusively in Addo.

Stop at the main reception area with some time to browse the curio shop. After your time at leisure, board your coach and transfer back to the harbour and re-join your ship.

Depart the quayside and transfer to Bellevue Forest Reserve situated on the 2500-hectare private game reserve in the Greater Addo region. Be part of an exhilarating African experience for a unique close adventure walk with the reserve’s tallest wildlife members – the Giraffe.
Upon arrival at Bellevue Forest Reserve, enjoy a welcome drink before you embark on a mini game drive on the reserve to locate the Tall Five. You will get the opportunity to observe the fauna and flora along the way, the reserve has 3 of the Big 5 (Buffalo, Lion and Leopard). Once the Tall Five is located, embark on foot to experience the Giraffe from up close and personal. Closest you will get to the giraffe is about 25 meters and no touching is allowed. Your trails guide will point out interesting facts about the giraffes.
After your walking safari, continue your game drive to locate the Cape Buffalo. The Cape Buffalo is one of the Big 5 and may reach up to 6.8 to 11 feet in length and the largest of the sub specie found in South and East Africa. Facilitated by a Game Ranger you can view from up close as Buffalos are fed and monitored daily.

Lions are free roaming on the greater reserve, as well as accommodated in an enclosed area (the predator educational and rehabilitation centre).

Amakhala Game Reserve aim at providing visitors with an experience of the diverse wildlife and landscapes of the Eastern Cape.

Amakhala Game Reserve is a unique conservation initiative that allows animals to be re-introduced to the area where they once roamed freely and so making a contribution to the conservation of our natural heritage. The land was used to ranch sheep and cattle up to the turn of the century. The challenge has been to re-establish the original flora and fauna species to the area and to return the land to nature.

Amakhala Game Reserve

Depart the quayside for Leeuwenbosch at Amakhala Game Reserve, situated 65 km from Port Elizabeth.

Upon arrival, you will transfer over onto 4x4 vehicles for your game drive. Along the way a restroom stop will be made.
