Get to enjoy two great aspects of Barbados, first enjoy an island tour, then relax on a beach and soak up the sun. Your tour will take you into the interior of the Island and your first stop at Gun Hill Signal Station will provide you with views of the South and West Coasts of Barbados. From here you continue to cross the Island and eventually you will reach Bathsheba, the famous surfing spot on the East Coast of the Island. You will have some time to take in the waves on the shoreline before continuing along the East. Enjoy the sights of the countryside before you reach the beach. Here your beach chair awaits, where you get to relax and take a dip into the ocean. A complimentary drink will be served, and the staff will be more than happy to assist you with any questions you might have.

Be greeted by your driver-guide as you step into your open safari truck and prepare for a tour of the island. Sit back and take in views of the countryside, sugarcane estates and mansions. You will see the coastal views from the edge of a cliff as well as while riding down the East Coast Road, a.k.a. the Cattlewash, named for the sea spray coming up from the Atlantic. Keep your camera at hand throughout. Then continue through quaint villages to a vantage point that overlooks the interior of the island known as the Scotland District. Your journey back to the port is along the West Coast, also called the Platinum Coast as many of the up-market and five-star hotels are located along this side of the island. Guests must be at least 5 years old to participate.

Prepare to embark on a journey that will take you to some of Barbados s most important historical sites. Your journey will begin by heading north along the West Coast also known as the "Platinum Coast". This coast is not only home to Holetown the site where the first settlers landed in 1627 but also now home to the rich and famous. St. John s Parish Church is perched on a cliff, 800 feet above sea level, overlooking coastal St. John and the Atlantic Ocean. The present building was constructed in 1836, after the hurricane of 1831 destroyed the one built in 1660 and also contains an interesting sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child with the infant St. John. Your tour will descend into Bathsheba where you will have a brief stop. Sunbury Plantation is the last stop on this tour. Enjoy a rum or fruit punch and take a stroll around the gardens. Guests must be at least 5 years old to participate.

Bask in the sun on a white sand beach in Barbados. Take a transfer through the historic capital of Bridgetown, making your way to the beach. Upon your arrival, you will be served a complimentary drink and given a brief orientation of the beach and facilities. A beach chair and shared umbrella are provided for your comfort, as well as changing rooms and showers. Additional drinks or light snacks are available for purchase. This beach has a spot for everyone - just pack your swimsuits, towel and sunscreen and you are ready to go!

Treat yourself to half a day of exploring some of Barbados must-sees from the comfort of a restored, open-sided bus, once common on the roads of Barbados in the 1930s and 40s. Your outing begins in Bridgetown with a drive-by look at the Parliament buildings, Independence Square. Accompanied by music, rum punch and juice, you will listen to anecdotes told by your tour guide on board your open bus. You will then pass through the Garrison Historic Area - a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 18th--19th-century buildings, a horse racing racetrack and one of the world s finest collection of cannons - on your way to a coastal strip with restaurants and shops, a great place to hang out and relax. Next up, you will head to Carlisle Bay where you will get to enjoy three beaches with views of the harbour coastline.

Your journey will begin by heading north along the West Coast, also known as the "Platinum Coast". The tour concludes at Cherry Tree Hill, which is an elevated point offering highland views of the island s east coast. Once here, guests will get the opportunity to "turn" the train on its return to the base. On your way back to the ship, you ll pass by the Morgan Lewis Windmill and enjoy a quick stop at Bathsheba.

Welchman Hall Gully is set in the heart of Barbados. This tropical hideaway is home to wild monkeys, rainforest trees, and native plants. After an approximately 40-minute drive, you will walk along its path and see Barbados as it appeared to the first settlers. Enjoy a view of the east coast and the life tucked away inside this collapsed cave. Then, it s off to the beach where you will get the chance to enjoy approximately 2 hours of free time in the sun and the sand. Guests must be at least 5 years old to participate.

This tour includes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking at Welchman Hall Gully. Depart the pier for an approximately 15-minute drive to the Shallow Draught, where you will board a Luxury Speedboat. Cruise along as you make your way to your first snorkel spot. Explore the hidden discoveries that lie under the sea. Once back onboard the speedboat, you can enjoy some complimentary rum punch. Step aboard your coach for a scenic drive through the hills of the countryside to St. John s Parish Church, which is perched on a cliff, 800 feet above sea level, overlooking coastal St. John and the Atlantic Ocean. The church contains an interesting sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child with the infant St. John. The graveyard contains the tomb of Ferdinand Paleologus, a descendent of the Byzantine Imperial family, who died in Barbados in 1678 after being a resident for over 20 years. Continue to Tropical Garden, a tropical flower garden in the parish of St George. A meandering path winds its way between outcrops of coral, rock gardens, cool shady gullies and ponds. Your last stop, Sunbury House, dates to 1650. It possesses one of the country s superior collections of antiques. The cellars, originally used for storing yams and other root vegetables grown on the plantation, now house a unique collection of antique carriages, the largest collection in the Caribbean, as well as many items used in the domestic life of the plantation. Sunbury Plantation House, located in St. Philip countryside, is a living monument to plantation life of a bygone era, carefully restored and lovingly cherished by its owners for posterity, for the enjoyment of generations to come. Your excursion will end at the airport in time for your return flight home.

Harrison s Cave is a natural phenomenon, quite in a class of its own. Formed from a type of crystallized limestone, this cavern is one of the most spectacular natural attractions in Barbados. Though created over the course of hundreds of thousands of years, Harrison s Cave has only been accessible to the public for approximately 40 years. The first recorded history of Harrison s Cave dates to 1796, but it then lay undisturbed until it was rediscovered in 1970 by Ole Sorenson and developed by the Government of Barbados. First, you will watch the short Discover Barbados film to learn more about the destination itself. After the video you will be taken to the Cave Interpretation Centre where you will watch another short film on the formation of the caves. Then, it is time to put your helmets on and board the electric tram that will take you down into the cave. As the driver pulls away, your guide will commence their commentary and you are on your way to a memorable experience - you will see the chambers, stalactites, and stalagmites, bubbling streams, tumbling cascades, plunging waterfalls and emerald pools. Throughout the almost mile long cave the flowstone covered walls glisten in the lights as the calcite laden waters drip down from the roof. At various points, the tram stops to allow passengers to disembark and have a closer look at the beauty at hand. Learn about how long it has taken for these features to form and take in the peacefulness of the cave itself. There is one stop that takes place at the lowest point in the cave, where a waterfall plunges into an emerald pool. Once you have returned to the surface, stretch your legs on a walk along a nature trail. Reconnect with nature while learning about the local flora and fauna. Then, chill out island-style at the Green Monkey Bar & Grill, browse the Welchman Hall Gift Shop & Boutique, or take in the Mount Gay Rum Experience to learn more about the history of rum in Barbados. • The Barbados Wildlife Reserve occupies 4 acres (1.6 hectares) of dense mahogany forest and is home to many species of native fauna which live here in the wild and come from the Caribbean Islands and other parts of the world.
• The green monkeys are in their natural environment where they are free to move around: we can observe them at any time of their day to day lives.
• To Reach the Reserve, which is across the road from Farley Hill National Park, we travel in a 4x4 Jeep and we cross the island visiting the most fascinating places, many of which are only accessible by off-road vehicles, like the Saint Andrews District on the east coast, also known as Scotland District because the landscape is reminiscent of the Scottish countryside.

• We set off in our minibus towards Harrison's Cave and we cross the centre of the island and pass by theSharon Moravian Church, which was built in 1799.
• The limestone caves, are a natural phenomenon that is considered very rare in the tropics, and they are, in all probability, the only ones of their kind in the whole of the Caribbean.
• First opened to the public in 1981, Harrison's Cave can only be visited on electric trams through tunnels and caverns to see how the rocks have been slowly eroded and sculpted over thousands of years. 
• The light which filters through the limestone walls renders this amazing underground world even more magical.
• We are surrounded by thousands of stalagmites and stalactites, some of which have joined to form columns, natural waterfalls and crystal clear lakes : a unique natural spectacle.

• We leave the port behind us and, on our Jeeps, cross the Barbados hinterland among historic plantations and large estates headed to the other side of the island, entertained by our guides and by the many interesting information provided.
• After taking in the array of breathtaking views, we arrive in Bathsheba, on the eastern coast,where we can take in one of the most evocative views on the island as the ocean waves crash on the cliffs.

• On the way to our destination, Carisle Beach, we pass through the historic centre of Bridgetown, the capital city of the island, and the Garrison Quarter, which are both listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
  
• When we arrive at Carisle Beach, all we have to do is to lie down in total abandon on a sun bed in the shade of a tree or under an umbrella, forget all our worries and enjoy this enchanting part of the Caribbean.
• There are bathrooms and showers available for us and we are served with a refreshing drink at the beach.
• After a few hours of regenerating relaxation on the beach, we are ready to return to the ship.

The programme

• We begin the excursion with a coach journey along the western coast of Barbados, which boasts luxury resorts, restaurants and beautiful villas.
• We proceed towards the interior of the island to discover picturesque villages and churches surrounded by endless sugar cane plantations, on our way to the eastern coast with its wild landscapes and a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean.
• A stop at the spectacular Bathsheba coast is a must. Here we have a few minutes free time that we can take advantage of to take a short walk or to take some photographs.
• On the way back to the capital, the coach takes us once again through the countryside of the hinterland, and once again in Bridgetown, we go through National Heroes Square, and then pass by the Parliament buildings and Independence Square.
• Our tour ends at Carlisle Bay, a beach with white sand and crystal clear waters where we can relax as we sip a refreshing drink.

The programme

• The crew welcomes us aboard our motor catamaran with typical Bajan hospitality and offers us a light snack with local sweet sandwiches, fruit juice, tea or coffee.
• We sail along the Barbados coast overlooking the Caribbean Sea as far as a secluded bay, where we can decide whether to go for a swim in the blue waters, relax on the beach or join the crew to go snorkelling (optional).
• The catamaran’s open bar will serve us a buffet lunch of typical traditional dishes with fresh drinks.
• We continue sailing until our next stop, where we have the extraordinary opportunity to encounter sea turtles and swim with them in their natural habitat.

The programme

• We will leave the port on a comfortable coach and travel along the famous west coast of Barbados, known as the "Gold Coast" or "Platinum Coast" due to the presence of numerous deluxe houses and luxury hotels, sophisticated restaurants and white sandy beaches lapped by turquoise waters.
• On the way, our guide will provide interesting information about the history of the steam train that is about to take us on an exciting adventure.
• We will reach Cherry Tree Hill, which takes its name from the cherry trees that once covered it, where we can enjoy picturesque views of the Atlantic coast and take some photos.
• When we reach the railway station, before the train departs, locomotive Tjepper No. 5 will start its engines, and after a short introduction to how it works and some safety rules, we will climb on board one of the three carriages, ready to set off.
• At the stationmaster’s whistle, followed by a loud burst of steam, the train will leave the station from St. Nicholas Abbey Great House in the Parish of St. Peter, which was built in 1660 and is one of the last remaining 14th-century residences in the Caribbean.
• When we reach our destination, we will pause briefly without leaving the train, before continuing around the lake inhabited by migratory birds, thriving mahogany forests, towering palm trees, sugar cane plantations and stones from an abandoned limestone quarry, which is believed to have been the source of the original stone used to build the residence.
• Before we leave, we will have the chance to see and take photos of the locomotive changing direction as it is linked to the opposite end of the carriages for the return journey.
• At the train’s double whistle, we will get back into the carriage and descend back down the hill, admiring breathtaking views of the north coast of the island and the sleepy rural villages in the area.
• When we reach the station, we will have free time to visit the souvenir shop and buy a few things, including rum and sugar-based products produced and only sold here.
• After shopping, we will return to the port by coach, stopping for photos at the Morgan Lewis Mill, the largest remaining windmill in Barbados, which dominates the stunning views of the Atlantic coast.

• On a bus to Carlisle Bay you take the coastal road south, with colorful buildings and colonial houses passing by in the window.
• From the natural harbor of Carlisle Bay, it’s a succession of discoveries: on board the sailing boat, you’ll sail the waters of the protected marine park to spot the turtles that populate it.
• After advice from your snorkeling instructor, you don mask and snorkel: the nuances multiply below the water, among seabeds lent color by corals and tropical fish. But there are also wrecks of pirate ships that speak of historic adventures!
• As soon as you reemerge, there’s nothing better than relaxing on a beach surrounded by a curtain of palms and by every comfort, including a stand in perfect Caribbean style with a view of the clear sea all around.

• Already in Bridgetown, there’s a wealth of locations not to be missed. In addition to the typical small wooden “chattel houses”, there’s Ilaro Court, the residence of the prime minister, and the Bussa statue, which commemorates the abolition of slavery.
• After a lot of history, it’s time for a drink at Tropical Garden, a botanical garden. 
• You think that’s it? It’s time for Farley Hill National Park, with the ruins of the home of Sir Graham Briggs. His collections of antiquities were so famous that they can still be found at the British Museum today.
• A panorama of color accompanies you on your way back to the ship: first, the pastel houses of Speightstown, then the villas and luxury hotels of the Platinum Coast.

Your adventure begins with an approximately 40-minute drive to Speightstown, one of Barbados oldest settlements, where you ll spend 20 minutes exploring its colorful streets, historic architecture, and vibrant local atmosphere. This charming coastal town offers a fascinating glimpse of the island s rich heritage and authentic Bajan culture.<-p>

Continue with an approximately 30-minute scenic drive to the Animal Flower Cave, the island s only accessible sea cave, dramatically situated along Barbados rugged northern coastline. During your 30-minute visit, take in Atlantic Ocean views, admire unique rock formations, and capture photos of this remarkable natural attraction. The stunning coastal scenery and dramatic landscapes make this one of the island s most iconic destinations.<-p>

From there, a 20-minute drive brings you to Farley Hill National Park, where you ll spend 20 minutes surrounded by mahogany trees and the romantic ruins of a once-grand mansion. Perched high above the countryside, the park offers sweeping views of Barbados picturesque east coast and rolling landscapes.<-p>

Your experience concludes with a 50-minute return drive to port.<-p>
